Cinema You can either take some children to a regular screening or some cinemas even allow you to take over a screen for your own private screening.  Link to cinema page.
Circus skills Parties where the children can have a go at plate spinning, juggling and diabolos amongst other things.

Drama Drama parties are where the children themselves do the entertaining.  They are usually based on a story of the child's choosing.
Entertainers Entertainers are the main stay of the children's party scenes.  There are literally hundreds of them around. 
Magicians A good magician can have a real 'wow' factor with the children.  Again, there are plenty of these around.  You should, however, look for someone who can do more than a general entertainer.
Sport Most sports centres run children's (private and council) parties.  I you are going the route of having someone run your party for you, sports parties are probably the best value for money parties.
