Theatre & shows

There is so much children's theatre to choose from.  There are a number of sites which you can use to browse and buy tickets or go direct to the local theatre in your area.  Look out also for outdoor performances in the summer in National Trust properties,  the Open Air Theatre in Regents Park and of course local parks.

Keep a look out for Kids Week which takes place in the last week of August.  This is an opportunity to take the children to a West End theatre at a great discount.  Details can be obtained from the Official London Theatre Guide.  It is best to look early summer to see when they are releasing the tickets.  The tickets go very quickly so so keep a check on the website to avoid being disappointed.

Individual theatre sites

You can either go to the Official London Theatre Guide website, or listed below are some theatres which are renown for their children's shows.

The Puppet Barge deserves a special mention.  It is an established 50 seat theatre on a barge. The theatre presents marionette and rod puppet spectacles throughout the year, spending the winter in Little Venice, central London and the summer on the River Thames from July to October giving  performances at Henley-on-Thames, Marlow, Cliveden and Richmond-on-Thames
