The river boat tours and busses stop at a variety of places along the Thames. Many of them offer a discount if you have a valid tube or train pass with you. Here are three companies to take a look at but really all you need to do is turn up at one of the piers.

London Duck Tours combines both river and road in their special amphibious craft, originally known as 'DUKWS' . The vehicles were first used for the D-Day landings when more than 21,000 were built to take the troops ashore. It is, however, quite a pricey treat - £49 for a family of four.

By bus

As well as the usual busses there are also a number of tour busses. Their great attraction to the children is sitting upstairs on a 'topless' bus! You should plan your day well to get the most out of the ticket price. Here are two of the operators.
